Bon Monastery


Bon Monastery is second oldest monastery in the world after the one present in Tibet. It also known as Yung Drung Ling is situated at a distance of about 12 km from Solan in Solan District of Himachal Pradesh. The monastery has a large statue of Lord Shenrab Mibo. In 1969, the monastery was founded by the Abbot Lungtog Tenpai Nyima. Three sacred bon dances (Cham) are performed on New Year eve, which attracts a lot of people to this place.
