Laxmi Narayan Temple

This temple is considered as the oldest as well as the biggest temple in Himachal Pradesh. Laxmi Narayan Temple complex are systematize from north to south and are addressed to either Shiva or Vishnu. Some other temples of Radha Krishna, Shiva Temple of Chandergupta and Gauri Shankar Temple housed in the complex which together make it drastically attractive.

It is constructed in the 10th century, the Laxmi Narayan Temple continued to be embellished by rajas. For example Raja Balabhadra Verma added the metallic picture of Garuda on a high pillar at the main gate of the temple while Raja Chhatra Singh provided the gilded pinnacles on the temple tops. It was done as a protest against the orders of Aurangzeb to demolish the temple.
