Built in the 17th century, Raja Jagat Singh of Kullu, as an act of penitence, had built this temple in Himachal Pradesh.Raghunathji Temple in Kullu is an important pilgrim destination of Himachal Pradesh. Constructed in the year 1651, by the Raja of Kullu it is believed that the idol of Raghunathji or Lord Rama was brought into Kullu, straight from Ayodhya.

The Raghunathji Temple houses the image of Lord Rama or Raghunathji in his chariot. Raghunathji is the presiding deity of the valley and the Raghunathji Temple is a revered destination for the pilgrims.
